2025 Australian Gin Awards Results

Chairman’s Report

It was a great pleasure to Chair the first ever Fever-Tree Gin & Tonic Awards.The most popular and well-known spirit mixer combination is the Gin & Tonic, so it was amazing to give it the time and effort over a few days of judging.

The judging team was selected by me and Steve McDermott (International Spirits Academy) and acting ‘Head Steward’. I was joined by Charlie Casben all round legend and (the Australian Gin Distillers Association Ambassador), Kim Berry (Editor of Australian Bartender Magazine), Bear Murphy (Mucho Group), James France (Spirits expert) and Rohan Lehane (Cocktail foamer company).

We nosed, blind tasted and deliberated on every entry into the competition over the week. The gins listed below were matched with Fever-Tree Indian Dry, Indian Dry Light, Mediterranean, Mediterranean Light, Elderflower, Raspberry, and Summer Garden Tonics.

Classic, Contemporary, Old Tom, Matured, Navy Strength and Flavoured.

We awarded 163 medals across the G&T selection being: 7 Double Gold,
14 Gold, 68 Silver 74 Bronze. We finished with the top five G&Ts for the finals which were held at The Barber Shop ‘Original Gin Bar’ in Sydney on 18 May. Mikey was joined by Jason Crawley (Simple Syrup Co) and Jason Williams (House-Made Hospitality) to judge and finally announce the top five and most of all the Best G&T in Australia.

Best in Show G&T pairing was awarded to Daylesford Miner’s Gin & Fever-Tree Mediterranean Light Tonic. The owners were the ultimate winners of the G&T CUP Trophy.
